Summary
Prompto has it fairly simple. He's a half mechanic-half hunter-half whatever Cid or Cindy need him to be around Hammerhead that day. It's hot as Ifrit's Balls here, and Prompto wishes he could stretch his wings a little more frequently, but he wouldn't have it any other way.
Unfortunately for Prompto, Cid has a favor to repay. It involves sending his half hunter-half mechanic-half whatever it is that Prompto does around here on a roadtrip to places only the Astrals know where.
With three complete strangers.
Who might or might not be okay with the fact Prompto is apparently part of the group of people that are causing the recent tensions with Niflheim.Sweet Shiva, this is going to be a long trip.

Summary
The stranger looks human at first, if not by his pale skin and tousled brown hair, then the sheer disorientation on his face as he looks around. He spins slowly, as if trying to take in every little feature of the main path. Only then are the wings pressed tightly against his back apparent. The feathers are bright, reds yellows and blues, and more well kept than the small and downy wings of Quackity, or the charred and tattered wings of Phil. He clearly isn’t from around here. For as sirens pierce the usual quiet of the SMP; the look on his face is not a revelation of someone who knows their significance. It's the confusion of someone who has found himself very suddenly out of his element.
Or a fic following an unfortunate plunge into the Boatem hole which leaves Grian far from the only home he knows; the deal he takes to free himself, and his subsequent attempts to both make his way back, and leave the place he finds himself in better than when he found it.
