Summary
Derek knew the way to Scott was through Stiles; he learned that the hard way. He needed Scott after Laura's death because there is strength in the pack. He can't be alone; he can't face the fact that his whole family is dead because of him because he failed to protect them.
Instead of trying to be good, Derek decided to be the bad guy he had always thought himself to be.
