Summary
The ritual changed Astarion Ancunin. Tav knew what killing Cazador Szarr and helping Astarion to take his place meant. She knew he would never come out of the ritual the same. Yet, she loved him enough to go to the very ends of the earth if it meant he would be happy and safe. But what if the ritual changed him too much? Would Tav be able to stick by his side? Would Tav be able to handle Astarion eventually treating her no better than the spawn he keeps hidden away in the palace? Or would she leave, spending her days hiding from her lover and his vampire spawn to find a peace of her own?
(This work of fanfiction is loosely based on the video game Baldur's Gate 3. Events, objects, places, and characters may be written out of order or altered compared to that of the video game as well as the original DND campaigns/lore.)

This a one-shot part of Shandora's "12 Days of Kinkmas" challenge. The characters are my OC, Octavia who is also the main character of my main fic - Marked by Fate - and Astarion. This happens during the canon events of the story but much later, after their relationship is established.
“Astarion,” she moaned. The sound of his name on her lips again just urged him to thrust deeper and deeper, the motion drawing an obscene, wet sound from their joined bodies. “Oh gods, Astarion,” she cried out again while her hands clutched at his waist tighter. Her eyes fluttered open for a moment, and she looked at him, hazy with pleasure, before closing once more as her head fell back against the pillow.
She’s alive. She’s here. They survived. That thought pushed him further, harder, deeper. He needed her to feel it, needed her to know. “Don’t stop,” she whimpered “I’m close.”
He couldn’t stop. He wouldn’t. His thrusts became faster, harder “She’s mine. Forever.” The thought consumed him, along with the realization that he was never letting her go. Never..

“I see.”
Astarion opened the little box and seized the die-twenty. He brought it up, and held it in between the two of them.
“Let’s verify that shall we?” He whispered.
[...] When Astarion began rolling the icosahedron suggestively between his middle finger and thumb, Gale's breath itched. His jaw slacked, his pupil blew out and a pearly tooth came to bite down on his plump lip.
Bringing the fateful object to his lips, Astarion gave it a soft kiss.
“I want to kiss you now.”
Gale swallowed. Lips parted, half hooded lids, he was hazy with want.
“Roll for it…”

It starts with the cracked pavement, littered with oil stains from the litany of beat-up cars that had parked there. Up on the gas station awning, there's a buzzing LED sign that’s gone half dark. When he inhales, sharp , the air is dry, dusty with the song of a coming monsoon.
Beyond the clear swinging glass doors, florescence lighting beckons him into the store. Inside, where the smell of cold coffee and clean tile is overwhelming, where soda slush spills out into the floor, where cigarettes lay locked behind a rounding counter in the center of the store.
Behind the counter, as always, is the cashier, with bright eyes and a dingy uniform and dark hair shorn short on the side. And always, she smiles when she sees him.
"Hey, soldier," she says. "Long day?"
