He wasn't prepared for this.
This being a tail and gills and lying on top of a kind of bed, but not really a bed. He's underwater and it's soft and folds along his body, but it's decidedly not a bed. It kind of traps his tail in place. What might be sheets (terminology is not something he knows anything about), folding up along his tail.
For an arranged married to become legitimate, it needs to be consummated. Bakugou Katsuki is wholly unprepared for what it entails to consummate a marriage with fins, underwater.

Claudia, the siren, falls in love with a human named Madeleine.
Claudia liked to watch her at night, resting her unsteady temporary mortal limbs on the concrete steps connecting to the Seine. She poked her head above the barrier that separated her world from the human’s, resting it upon her long scaled fingers, stained crimson from her recent kill. She could feel the sweet ichor dripping down her mouth as she watched the copper-haired woman stitch by candlelight through her window just meters away. She was mesmerized.
She should want to kill her, but she didn’t.

Summary
A slow burn between two scientists, one from land while the other is from the sea, starting from a brief meeting in their youth to their adulthood. Occurring in a universe where the Merfolk, were exploited and nearly eliminated due to their connection to ‘magic’ by war and a substance called The Grey. The story will follow our two main characters as they attempt to bring peace between their peoples, while also keeping themselves alive.
(AKA: Merman Viktor and Human Jayce fall in love and solve political issues.)
((Title is a reference to the song Round Here by Counting Crows cause I felt like it))
(Tags will update as the story goes, there will be a time skip from childhood to adulthood. I also infamously include mpreg in everything so if possible merpreg (eggpreg?) isn’t your thing then maybe avoid this one? Idk I can’t commit yet.)

Jimmy Solidarity doesn't care for SCUBA diving. He doesn't hate it, but he doesn't particularly like it either. His now-ex, Scott Smajor, convinced him to get certified back when they were together (since Scott was a marine biology student), and got all of their friends to fall in love with it too.
So even after Jimmy and Scott broke up, Jimmy still gets dragged into diving by his sister and friends.
Now, years later, one fateful SCUBA diving trip will see Jimmy nearly drown, only to get rescued by a mysterious, glowing figure. One that Jimmy could swear has a fish tail, though that could be the oxygen-deprivation.
But afterward, why does he still feel drawn to the sea when his own self-preservation should be sending him so far inland he never sees a beach ever again?
