Summary
The Sequel to HELIOTROPE, a novel of adolescent love in the far future:
A month ago, Jane Conley was a twelve-year-old boy. Now, she's a trans girl. She isn't sure what to make of that. After all, on this world, "biology tends toward the hermaphroditic". And her sister isn't trans, and her cock is bigger!
What doesn't help is the voice in her head, the whispers of the King in Yellow, telling her she can be so much more, if only she gives in to all the sides of her she's trying real hard to escape right now. But she IS the King. Nobody questions this. Nobody dares to. Except her.
Is she a fraud? A monster? Can she keep herself together, and save the world that let her be herself at the same time?
And what about her big sister? Life among the Chlanii has not been nearly as kind to Robin as she thinks it has. Can Jane help her grow? Can they rule together? Is there any chance of a happy ending?
At least they have each other. For now.

Summary
Robin and Jay Conley have been there for each other through thick and thin. Sisters and lovers, heads of state of a planet that is actually extremely anarchist, parents (apparently, soon, that is) -- they've been through so much together. They've been tortured side by side, raped by the same people, the only thing they haven't done yet is knocked each other up. But give that time, right?
There's only one problem. Robin is fifteen. Jay is thirteen. Both girls have been through so much that they're starting to go insane. Shit happens, they're at each other's throats over it -- and hell breaks loose.
Do they even love each other anymore? Can Robin survive, on her own, after admitting she's incapable of being a good person and joining House Castaigne, infamous for their ritual child rape and murder -- and also their interest in politics? Will they even take her, after she's been their enemy for so long?
And Jay's like, an alien now, because apparently that's a thing you can just do.
Man, I sure hope it doesn't get worse from here.
