Summary
In the universe of Minecraft, bodies were rare. In creative, one did not die. In survival, their bodies evaporated into the contents of their inventory as they respawned. Even in Hardcore bodies were rare, as they were traditionally Singleplayer. In a Multiplayer world those bodies would dust still, to assist the world in supporting multiple players running around it.
Bodies were only found in relatively rare and mildly illegal Permadeath servers. It was surprising to meet someone who'd seen one, and unlikely they'd tell you, especially considering the extreme rules and conditions about death on active servers meaning only natural deaths took place.
No one on Hermitcraft could've ever guessed Grian was one of the few unlucky players to have seen a body. Not just one. Multiple, many by his own guilty hands.
