How does this fest work?

This is a 'prompt meme collection’! From March 1 - March 14, this fest will be collecting prompt submissions (from anyone, even those who aren’t planning to write something for the fest). Once the prompting period is over, there will be one week for ‘claiming’ prompts. Writers will claim a prompt, fill out the google sign-up form, and then get started! I will send out a couple of emails, but there are no official check-ins. Fics will be posted anonymously by the deadline, June 21st, and then will be revealed starting from June 26th! The date of author reveals depends on how many days of posting there are. I'll be sure to keep you updated.

Can I write a self-prompt?

Yes, you can. Make sure to read over the rules here.


Do I have to have an AO3 account?

Yes! You'll need one to claim your prompt(s) and when you finish, your fic(s) will also be added to this collection for everyone else to enjoy!! <3


Can I co-write a prompt with someone else?

Yes! Please just let me know directly if you'd like to do this. I'll tell you what you need to do in order to co-write a prompt with someone.


What counts as a darkfic? How do I know if I need to put a TW on it?

The general rule of thumb is that if you're unsure whether to put a TW (Trigger Warning) on it, do it! Just so we're clear though, any of the following topics must be noted and warned before the prompt: pedophilia, rape/noncon, dubcon, incest, bestiality, underage, MCD (Major Character Death), any heavy topics like suicide/self-harm, any topics that focus on explicit murder/stalking, and anything else you may dub extreme. Please use your best judgment, but if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me personally!

PROMPTING RULES

- The prompting page is here.
- You can also prompt on the google forms here.
- On AO3, you can submit up to 50 prompts. On the google forms, there is no limit.
- The main pairing/focus of your prompt must be Namjoon/Yoongi.
- If your prompt includes anything that could be triggering, you must not only tag it in the prompt's tagging section, but also write in all caps before your prompt "TW: ______" to help let others avoid your prompt if they so desire. If you submit a "darkfic" prompt without any trigger warnings, your prompt will be deleted. If you're unsure about your prompt and whether you need to tag it, go ahead and tag it just to be safe!
- If you want to avoid having something you don't want in the fic, please list out your Do-Not-Wants ('DNWs') in the description. Also, if you only want a certain rating, please note that as well. You also have the choice to make your prompt 'Anonymous' or not. If you want it to be anonymous, you must click the button that says 'Semi-Anonymous Prompt?'
- You may submit self-prompts. Please keep in mind that self-prompts are not posted during the prompting period. Instead, you will claim one of the prompts that I will add in myself that will say "Claim this to write a self-prompt" and then fill out this google sign-up form.

 
CLAIMING RULES

- You must make sure to hit the 'Claim' button of the prompt(s) you want and then fill out this google sign-up form.
- Only one person is allowed to claim a prompt. All prompts are on a first-come, first-serve basis so make sure to figure out what prompt(s) you would like to write before claiming starts on March 15th!
- If you want to write a self-prompt, make sure to claim one of the prompts that says 'Click this to write a self-prompt.' Please don't forget that you must still fill out this google sign-up form.
- You can claim up to 2 prompts! You can also write 1 self-prompt. This means the max number of prompts you can write a fic for is 3. Of course, if you only wanted to write 1 self-prompt and not claim anything else, that's perfectly fine as well.
- If you do not fill out the google sign-up form, your claim will be deleted.
- Helpful Reminder: Make sure to claim your prompt before filling out the google sign-up form just in case someone else claims the prompt you want while you're filling out the form!
 

WRITING RULES

- There is no minimum word count, but if you'd like a number, aim for 1k!
- The main pairing/focus of your fic must be endgame Namjoon/Yoongi. And while I am the biggest supporter of polyamorous ships, please do not include Namjoon/Yoongi in any endgame polyamorous ships.
- You must tag everything appropriately.
- You can submit an incomplete, chaptered fic. Please note that I'll only be promoting the first chapter of your fic though!
- Please try not to stray too far from the prompt(s) you claimed! Of course, your own interpretation is encouraged, but if all they ask for is a fic where they both have dogs and you don't include dogs at all, you aren't following the prompt!

DROP-OUTS, EXTENSIONS, DUE DATES, AND POSTING RULES

- The deadline for all fics is June 21st, 2020. Fics must be in by 11:59 PM CST.
- There are no check-ins for this fest since there is no minimum word count, but as we get closer to the deadline, I'll send out a reminder email about the deadline as well as a "how-to-post" guide.
- As for posting, the basic guideline for posting is to go to your 'Claims' page and click 'Fulfill.' There, you'll post your fic like any fic but there will be a section where it says you're fulfilling an assignment. If you would like to directly gift your work to your prompter, you can add your prompter's name (if they aren't anonymous) in the 'Gift Work To' section! I will be sending out a more in-depth guide on how to post when the time comes!
- If you want to drop out, please fill out this drop-out form. I won't ask any questions and there are no consequences for dropping out, but please make sure to fill out the form.
- Please try and make sure to get your fic completed in time, but if you think you will be unable to, please update me immediately on what's going on. If necessary, I will provide you an extension.
- If you don't submit your fic, don't fill out the drop-out form, and don't update me personally on what's going on before the first day of fic reveals, you will be banned from the exchange. Basically, don't ghost me, please!

DURING THE WRITING PERIOD

- Until authors are revealed, don't publicly discuss the prompt(s) you're writing or who you're writing it for. This is an anonymous fest so it'd mean a lot if you could keep up the anonymity! You can definitely talk about your fics as much as you want but make sure not to spoil anything! And if you want to scream about your fics, I am here for you!!! I understand wanting to talk about your fic but being unable to TT_TT but I believe in you~~

- Feel free to engage with the fic account on Twitter~ I track #namgificfest as well as #namgispringfest so if you want to say anything about the fest, use at least one of those hashtags so I can see!

- You can send me messages or questions in the cc as well! I am absolutely here to support you and to answer any of your questions!
