The infraorbital nerve or IO nerve is an afferent nerve formed from the merger of cutaneous branches from the upper lip, the medial part of the cheek, side of the nose, the lower eyelid. The IO nerve then passes into the infraorbital foramen of the maxilla. The infraorbital foramen is located inferior to the midpoint of the inferior margin of the orbit, the infraorbital rim.
