Kelly Marie Tran (17 de xineru de 1989, San Diego) ye una actriz d'Estaos Xuníos. Ella tuvo dellos papeles en curtiumetraxes y episodios de distintes series de televisión, cuantimás el so rol de Rose Tico en Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi, l'octavu episodiu de la saga Star Wars.[2]
Biografía
[editar | editar la fonte]Kelly Marie Tran nació'l 17 de xineru de 1989, na ciudá de San Diego nel estáu de California. Los sos padres yeren refuxaos vietnamites qu'escaparon de la Guerra de Vietnam.[3][4] En Vietnam, el so padre yera un indixente ensin techu que creció nes cais d'un pueblu.[5] En camudándose a los Estaos Xuníos, trabayó nun Burger King pa poder sofitar a la familia, ente que la so esposa trabaya nuna casa funeraria.[6]
Mientres la so adolescencia, Tran atendió a la escuela secundaria Westview de San Diego mientres trabayaba nuna tienda de yogures pa ganar dineru.[7][5] Más tarde, graduar con una llicenciatura en comunicaciones pola Universidá de California en Los Angeles.[6][8]
Carrera
[editar | editar la fonte]Tran pasó los sos primeros años en Los Angeles audicionando para pequeños roles, mientres participaba nos grupos d'improvisación Upright Citizens Brigade y The Second City. En 2013, participó na serie web Ladies Like Us. Tamién formo parte de dellos videos de CollegeHumor.[9]
En 2015, Tran foi escoyida pa tomar el rol de Rose Tico en Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi, una mecánica de la resistencia rebalba.[10] Sicasí, non pudo comenta-y a los sos padres que consiguiera'l trabayu, poro, cuando a principios de 2016 empezar a grabar les primeres escenes de la película nos Pinewood Studios, mintió a los sos padres, y díxo-yos que se trataba d'una pequeña película en Canadá.[11] Col so rol en The Last Jedi, Tran convertir na primer muyer asiática americana n'interpretar un papel principal nuna película de Star Wars.[9] En 2017, convertir na primer muyer asiática en figurar na portada de Vanity Fair, xunto a John Boyega y Oscar Isaac.[12]
