HURR DURR

This trope hasn't been funny or original since about 1994.

This feels like it's going to take all 12 episodes for anything to actually happen and then it'll end on a cliffhanger setting up season 2. 😓

Such a shame, I don't mind the character designs too.

Why does the dialogues sound like they we're written in Duolingo?

This sums it up so perfectly!

I gave it the 3-episode rule and I am happy to be done with it, with 2nd episode already being really bad and the third one being straight painful to watch.

This is not how people think, act or talk. It should not tried to get all serious on us when they can't write a single realistic character.

Seen 2 episodes, I get that the awkwardness and the slow pacing is not to everyones liking.

The dialogue isn't that bad even though it is too obvious this is a LN adaption and def on the stilted side. I don't really mind it though.
I honestly love the chill atmosphere. The art and cinematography is beautifully dreamy and unique. Together with the slow pacing and haunting, reverb-heavy music it captures a calm that I fell in love with almost instantly. It's a cliché to say, but so far it really subverted my expectations in a good way.

Also they make the food look so f+cking good!

I can't wait to see more of this directors stuff if this is how he blocks and composes scenes in his directory debut.

Definitely not for those who crave breakneck pacing and tropey antics. I will keep watching for now.

For some strange unholy reason I was curious how this anime will end. After somehow watching all 12 eps I can say that it did deliver something.
The delivery:

The ending summarized:
Both of them to each other: "I have strong feelings for you but I don't know what they are."
Her:"You don't know what they are!? Then they could be something else! They might not be.."
Him:"..Let's figure this out together.."
Her:"Thank you."

Couldn't choose the sibling ending or the lovers ending so they went with the go nowhere non-ending.

You know, I think that's actually a pretty reasonable approach two young people would take irl.

I think this ending is kinda misunderstood incidentally because most people tend to keep certain emotions at bay and push them to the bottoms of their hearts with disgust and abhorrence.

The characters in this anime act with a concern for other's feelings and an understanding this is not common at that age, I would say. Most comments on this page stand as proof of that.

The ending is actually touching and filled with hope for their future, no matter how their feelings will evolve from that point on.

for real. both MCs are so highly intelligent and mature far beyound their age and I think many people fail to notice that or are too young to know. this series is so incredible that after I finished watching it I had to immediately pick up a novel where it left off (anime covers vol 1-4) and ohh boy it sure delivers in my book. I did read through vol 5. up to 11 in one sitting reading 34 hours straight with breaks only for food. all the characters are so well written and distinct and their struggles while figuring life out on many fronts are so well portrayed I was speechless. there is enough material for two more seasons and I'd dump a lot of money to see it animated with such quality as first one. sadly we probably will never see it because it's too ambitious of a plot for it's own good - it simply don't sell that well in anime world and it makes me sad.

That sounds like it would be worth watching if it ever got more seasons but as I dislike incomplete stories, I better skip it for now.
