The slice-of-life comedy is set in a countryside school with only five students total. The nearest bookstore is 20 minutes away by bicycle, a certain "Ju_p" magazine comes out on Wednesdays instead of Mondays, and the video rental store is 10 stations away.
Fifth-grade schoolgirl Hotaru Ichijō transfers from Tokyo to this school and readjusts to the slow life in the country. Her fellow schoolmates are first-year middle schoolgirl Natsumi, second-year middle schoolgirl Komari, first-grade schoolgirl Renge, and Komari's big brother Suguru in the third year of middle school.
It appears to be quite...hm, it's not really "boring" that I'm searching for. I'd say it has, perhaps, very few things to grab on, things to do, based on that setting.
Anyway, it may take any direction. I'll check it out, you may call it curiosity.
Moe, more moe and maybe some generic yet detailed backgrounds or extreamly light comedy... Anyway this shall replace the time killer of kiniro mosaic :V

Why boring?
Slice-of-life is intended for making oneself happy of watching characters living their daily life.
I linger after a countryside show with beautiful landscapes and a rural idyll...

Yeah, not that interesting and the BGM is extremely annoying but hey, it was a relaxing watch.
I'd like it to become like Aiura, that's unrealstic, though.
The first episode was cute and inoffensive, rather than cloying and trying too hard. I get the angle here though, it's obviously going to be playing up the 'we're country bumpkins and everything is primitive' routine.

It is; however it should be noted that it's interesting because East Asia suffers heavy deficiencies on new population (read: babies/kids), so this in reality actually could have happened anywhere. I said East Asia because China is roughly same and Korea I can guarantee this situation can be confirmed.
So while it's trying to buy itself being moe anime, it's more then that. It gets to people easily because slice of life is rather easy going, but it's of course more then that. It's subtle but shows that situation is while grim, it's fixable.
Oh, did I mention to you that Japan and South Korean population is actually heading nosedive? (More deathrate vs birthrate, meaning overall population is dropping, hence "nosediving". China is very unstable also, due to fact that male-to-female ratio is close to hitting 2:1)
There's another manga series that has very similar topic, but in cityside, and also in future. I'll go and dig it up if anyone wants me to later.
going back on topic real fast, while it's going to ride on fact that they're in countryside, it's perfectly fine. The new setting is the appeal, and show actually will have a plot (omgnowaii)
It's hard to expect eventful in slice of life genre. Point of slice of life really is making uneventful interesting. If you don't like this piece of slice, what can I say? That would merely be your preference

it would have been inoffensive had this character not existed. i was offended by everything she did/said. she's almost as bad as this girl from tamako market. they are similar, after all.
it's a shame, the slow pace and setting seemed nice. but once again the characters ruin everything.

it's called "inappropriate usage of moe" I think. I can't remember exact Japanese name for it but they do seem to exist now...

as slice-of-life-ish(aka boring) as it can get?
