This is a very short series that focuses on a few girls, namely Javelin and Laffey that got to be friends with Ayanami from the original series, as well as Z23 who didn’t have that much screen time from the previous season. It does have cameos from many of the other characters from the previous season and some new faces, as some of them trigger whatever the characters will do or gets dragged along.
This is not a story driven anime. It is a SoL fan service miniseries with random stuff happening.

It's just the Azur Lane girls doing... stuff. No story, just doing random stuff daily. It's not even a hardcore comedy spinoff like Puchimasu or 501. Just doing... stuff. I can't even call it slice-of-life, so call it... daily life maybe?
But it's cute enough so it's all good.
Oh, and the ecchi, yeaaaaaaaa.
For how inconsequential this series is, I actually enjoyed it *a lot*. Call me an otaku, but I find value in this kind of stuff. Even for people who don't care about Azur Lane, might want to just give this a shot while switching your brains off.
Giving it a green recommendation tho, because while this may be excellent for killing time or relaxing, it definitely does not fall under something you tell others you must watch.
But it's cute enough so it's all good.
