Disappointingly, but predictably, everyone is secretly a childhood friend.
Still manages to subvert some tropes and give a good showing if you stick around for a few episodes until the light-hearted twist.
From then on it's open hunting season on the protagonist, and hunters and prey alike are all idiot teenagers. If that sounds annoying to you, avoid at all costs, otherwise it's an ok watch for genre fans.

But at the same time, both have some of the most straightforward and "reliving" moments that totally caught you off guard (instead of dragging it out in most anime). Both have hidden actors with unknown motive, bad guy turned out to be good, and vice-versa.
Overall both can be a very low quality, but can be extremely fun watch.
