The aim of the paper is to analyse the production strategy and functioning of the ecological disc... more The aim of the paper is to analyse the production strategy and functioning of the ecological discourse within the Anthropocene. The author asks about the peculiar popularity of climate denialism in public discourse. In the paper, the discourse pro-duction is considered in the context of zoe/geo/techno assemblages (Braidotti), as well as the functioning of algorithms and search engines on the example of the Youtube plat-form. The author concludes that climate denialism should be considered as an equivalent ecological narrative to avoid the expansion of alternative knowledge cycles. In this context, he proposes to turn to the Neganthropocene proposal formulated by Bernard Stiegler.

The author refers to the book „Algorithms of Oppression”, in which Safiya Umoja Noble describes oppressive discrimination systems functioning within the network, as well as two narratives describing the work of the so-called content moderators – artistic installation „Dark Content” and documentary „The Cleaners”. The author asks about the ways of the existence of a digital image that has been removed from the web, raises the issue of its non-presence, and also reflects on the place of power and supervision in the ontology of digital visuality.

Initial Thoughts
The article is an attempt to review the ecological discourse in the light of post-human philosophy. The main concept addressed by the author is the Anthropocene; the author observes that the Anthropocene functions as an ambivalent philosophical metaphor, which underlies contemporary ecological discourse. The author advances a new concept which, in his opinion, could replace ecology. The concept is called eco-logic, and may be defined as 'thinking through home'.

The article presents a reflection on the presence of animals in the Holocaust and in the narratives that underpinned it. The starting point of this consideration is the book by a Polish literary scholar – Piotr Krupiński „Why did the Geese Shriek?” Animals and the Holocaust in Polish Literature of the 20th and 21st Century. The author juxtaposes the book with the comic book Maus by Art Spiegelman and the nazi propaganda film The Eternal Jew. The article raises questions about, among others, suffering of animals, a human–animal dualism in the context of the Holocaust, zoomorphism, and controversies over the so called animal holocaust. The author points out that we should remember the human is also an animal, especially at the time of the reflection on the Holocaust, which reveals the issue of „community of death”.

The essay attempts to consider the relation between light and darkness. During the analysis of biblical Genesis, author points the original nature of darkness, and suggests that light is a strength of the secondary character. The author seeks a confirmation of his theses in Nietzsche's and Plato's philosophy. The power of light is to create images in our eyes. Human believes in those images and creates patterns, stereotypes and opposites upon them. Image has become the cause of existing divisions in the world. Author asks whether we are capable of returning to darkness and 'staying with the trouble' (Haraway). The gesture of closing eyes may help us to clean our gaze and retrain us in looking. Light separates us from the world, and darkness absorbs and merges everything and every being. This observation leads to New Materialist perspective, which can help us in learning the new ethics, based upon rules of darkness instead of light.

The essay is an attempt to consider the relation between center and margins. The author refers to the strategy of re-treating proposed by Tadeusz Sławek and to the gesture of closing eyes. Raised by Wolfgang Welsch concept of a "culture of the blind spot" is also very important - it shows how processes of centralization and marginalization works. The author refers to the ideas of Marquis de Sade, Giorgio Agamben, Gilles Deleuze & Félix Guattari, and Karen Barad in order to analyse two characters who become conceptual personas - the homeless and the refugee. According to them, it becomes clear, that the relation between center and margins is an apparatus. The author points out, that such a relation doesn't really exist, and suggests that we rather should reconsider the world in categories of community and intra-actions.

The article is an attempt to describe the issue of aesthetic understanding, raised by David Hume, and – later – by Arnold Berleant. The author tries to locate the problem in New Materialist perspective according to theories of Karen Barad. With this, the author attempts to indicate that aesthetics (understand as the general theory of sensory cognition) should be considered in-between ontology and epistemology. This way of thinking about the aesthetic could be a way to overcome the mind–body dualism. Hitherto narratives of the philosophy of body (ex. somaesthetics by Richard Shusterman) do not seem to avoid this distinction. By referring to the idea of atmospheres by Gernot Böhme and locating it in New Materialist perspective, the author points out, that aesthetic understanding can be explored only if we consider as well the inner body processes as the surrounding environment.

This essay attempts to introduce identity as an image. The author, using strategy of re-treating proposed by Tadeusz Sławek, conducts a narrative about interweaving of three figures: a face, a mirror and a mask. With a reference to theories by Giorgio Agamben, Hans-Georg Gadamer, or Hans Belting, the author analyses faces in Lena Achtelik’s engravings, figures in Ewa Juszkiewicz’s paintings, a Leszek Kołakowski’s fairytale and a scene from the movie "Duck Soup". On the basis of those examples he attempts to approach a phenomenon of an identity-portrayal. Assuming that identity is what begins at the intersection of two images – inner and outer – the author seeks its roots in the beginning of the cognitive revolution that was related to development of the Homo sapiens species. It leads him to conclusion that we have always seen only an image of a Man, that forms a basis for the identity-portrayal. Therefore, the author suggests the gesture of closing eyes, that can for a moment free us from power of images.

The article is an attempt to analyze the issue of the autonomy of objects in context of the relationship and subsequent communication between human and machine. The author analyzes two cases: the poetic machine made by Wojciech Bruszewski, and Electronic Bard (Elektrybałt) from Stanisław Lem’s The Cyberiad. The author tries to consider the lack of understanding between human and mechanical subjects. From this perspective, he also tries to analyze the phenomenon of Artificial Intelligence. The article is based on N. Katherine Hayles’ and Michał Ostrowicki’s (vel Sidey Myoo) theories which put it in a critical post-humanist perspective and enable the rejection of the anthropocentric paradigm of knowledge while embracing other different-than-human languages.

The article is an attempt to consider a place of a subject in perspective of post-anthropocentric point of view. Post-anthropocentrism is a heavyweight issue of the posthumanism, a critical theory, which is based on rejection of human domination over the world and which considers human as a part of life-itself. However, is human capable of rejecting the anthropocentric point of view? Is overstepping the Anthropos even possible? What we can do to not allow the post-anthropocentrism become one of anthropocentric instruments of power? Author tries to answer these questions referring to feminist critical theories - Adrienne Rich's politics of location and Donna Haraway's situated knowledge. It seems that, the proper question is rather, could human beings become a part of life-itself, remaining themselves at the same time.

Przedmiotem ich zainteresowań jest więc nie tożsamość bądź obraz, ale wszystko to, co odnajdziemy pomiędzy nimi, co wyrasta na skrzyżowaniu dyskursów. Poprzez badania nad konkretnymi tekstami kultury oraz rozważania teoretyczne, autorzy starają się ujawnić skomplikowane relacje zachodzące pomiędzy tym, co tożsamościowe a obrazowością. Pytają zarówno o obrazowanie tożsamości, jak i o tożsamość samego obrazu.
