Bally’s Int Releases Mobile Sportsbook BallyBet in Iowa
Bally’s Corp Int Subsidiary expands after it publicizes details about future release of a mobile sportsbook Bally Bet in Iowa, USA.
On July 2, Bally Bet opened up operations in its seventh state. In Massachusetts, the operator becomes one of seven national sports betting platforms.
There were eight active platforms in the state at one point, but WynnBet and Betr left the industry earlier this year. The remaining operators were FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars Sportsbook, DraftKings, ESPN Bet, and Fanatics Sportsbook.
Massachusetts legislation limits the number of platforms to 17. Operators have the option to apply for a stand-alone mobile license or collaborate with already-existing racetracks or casinos. There are links between ESPN Bet (Plainridge Park) and BetMGM (MGM Springfield). WynnBet was linked to Encore Boston Harbor; however, since WynnBet’s closing, the license has not been used.
Bally Bet was one of the first online gambling sites to receive a Massachusetts license. On March 10, 2023, the corporation made the decision not to take part in the statewide launch. Earlier in the year, it renewed its interim license.
Bally’s chief operating officer Brett Calapp said:
“We’re super excited to go live in Massachusetts, a state with such a rich sports history, a state where sports are part of the fabric of the community.”
In a public meeting on July 1, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission granted Bally’s operations certificate.
