L.A. Posse는 미국 힙합 음반 제작팀이다.
역사
L.A. Posse는 처음에 바비 "DJ Bobcat" Eervin과 마크 "DJ Pooh" Jordan이 나중에 합류한 설립자 Dwayne "Muffla" Simon과 Darryl "Big Dad" Pears로 구성되었다.이 팀은 데프 잼 창업자 러셀 시몬스가 래퍼 브리즈의 프로듀싱 계약을 맺으면서 처음으로 두각을 나타냈으며,[1] 시몬스가 LL Cool J의 1987년 앨범 Bigger and Deffer에 대한 사전 제작을 부탁하게 되었다.Bigger and Deffer는 큰 성공을 거두었고 L.A.로 이어졌다.Posse 프로듀싱 The Real Roxanne의 eponymous 앨범.이 기간 머플라는 런디엠씨(Run-D.M.C)의 싱글 '비츠 투 더 라임(Beats to the Rhym)'을 공동 집필하기도 했다.
1989년 L.A.포세는 데프 잼을 탈퇴하고 애틀랜틱 레코드와 계약을 맺으며 브리즈의 앨범 The Young Son of No One을 프로듀싱했고, 이 앨범은 차트 작성 랩 싱글 "L.A"를 발매했다.포세"이 그룹의 멤버들 중 일부는 LL Cool J의 후기 앨범인 Walking with a Panther, Mama Said Kock You Out, 그리고 14 Shotts to the Dom에서 프로듀싱을 하기도 했다.이에 뒤이어 이 그룹은 1991년 자체 앨범인 They Come in All Colors를 녹음했다.
Muffla is currently heading new multimedia company Covert Entertainment Soundworks, Big Dad has been connected with Dr Dre, John Singleton, Nona Gaye, and others, Bobcat has been working with Dr Dre and Battlecat at The Pharmacy, while DJ Pooh has expanded into a Hollywood powerhouse with films Friday, 3 Strikes, The Wash, and Grow House.

I flew out to New York as part of The L.A. Posse to work with a Def Jam artist named Breeze. It was myself, Big Dad, Muffla and DJ Pooh. Breeze was supposed to be the up and coming LL, so Russell Simmons signed him ... So we were working with Breeze and doing such a great job, that Russell asked us if we were interested in doing pre-production on LL’s next album. We said yes and started working on records with LL.
