Carbon nanotubes are cylindrical in shape with unique characteristics which makes them used in nanotechnology applications. Their various properties like surface area, strength, and stiffness which have led them excitement in pharmacy field. CNTs are classified into two type's i. e. single walled nanotubes and multiple walled nanotubes. For the preparation of CNTs there are various methods like arc discharge method, laser ablation method, and chemical deposition method. These nanotubes are used in diagnostic as well as medicine delivery system. It is important to be aware of the toxicities of carbon nanotubes due to their wide range of uses in medication administration and to learn how to deal with any issues resulting from toxicities. The biodegradation mechanism of carbon nanotubes has recently been the subject of numerous studies. The delivery of drugs using single and multiple walled carbon nanotubes has to be a safer and more efficient option.

Floating microsphere pledges to be a potential philosophy for gastric retention. The floating microspheres have been created trying to discharge the medication gradually into the GIT and keep up a compelling medication fixation in the serum for longer timeframe. From the system and technological factor of view, the floating drug delivery system is comparatively clean and logical approach. In this review, the current status of floating microspheres including hollow microspheres (micro balloons) and their characterization, advantages disadvantages, application, mechanism and method of preparation for gastric retention of drug are discussed. This review additionally summarizes the in vitro and in vivo studies to evaluate the overall performance and programs of floating microspheres.

Depression is the largest cause of disability in the world and a substantial contributor to the g... more Depression is the largest cause of disability in the world and a substantial contributor to the global illness burden. According to the National Health Interview Survey, individuals aged 18-29 had the highest percentage of persons experiencing any symptoms of depression, followed by those aged 45-64 and 65 and older, and finally those aged 30-44. Women are more likely than men to suffer from serious depressive disorders (8.7 percent compared to 5.3 percent of adult males). Depression is characterized by drastic changes in one's life, childhood trauma, a hectic schedule, stress, brain structure (risk is higher in the frontal lobe of the brain), a variety of medical histories, a larger intake of alcohol, and drug addiction, to name a few. Because the medications used to treat severe depressive disorders have deadly adverse effects, the 3 R's, or Right Choice of Medication at Right Time in Right Dose or Quantity, are critical in achieving mental health. Despite the lack of a calming effect, SSRIs appear to be more helpful than TCAs in the treatment of depression with anxiety.

Many medications or therapies could benefit from a pulsatile drug release, in which the drug is released rapidly after a predetermined lag time. A pulse must be designed in such a way that after the lag time, a complete and rapid drug release is achieved, matching the body's circadian rhythms with the drug release, increasing the efficacy and safety of drugs by proportioning their peak plasma concentrations during the 24 hours in synchrony with biological rhythm. In recent years, various technologies for chronopharmaceutical drug delivery have been developed and thoroughly explored, including time-controlled, pulsed, triggered, and programmed drug delivery systems. To administer medicine in a pulsatile way, many types of formulations such as bilayer tablets, coated tablets, pellets, and tablet in capsule can be developed.
Nanocochleates are a novel drug delivery device in which different charged drug molecules are ora... more Nanocochleates are a novel drug delivery device in which different charged drug molecules are orally delivered into a multilayered structure comprising a solid-lipid bilayer in the shape of a spiral-rolled sheet. The nanocochleate structure offers protection from the harsh world around it. All the preparation process involves using the charge ratio to monitor the particle size between the bridging agents and lipids. This nanocochleate was formed by the interaction between negatively charged lipids and drugs or peptides acting as inter-bi-layer bridges instead of multicationic metal ions, capable of microencapsulating water-soluble cationic drugs or peptides into its inter-lipid bi-layer space. A process known as "hydrogel co-chleation" or simply by increasing the proportion of multivalent cationic peptides over negatively charged liposomes can be generated in submicron size cochleates. Nanocochleates have very less limitations and dosage types than other lipid drug delivery systems; it is thus generally applicable and more likely to be a drug delivery system.

An orally disintegrating tablet is a drug dosage form available for imitated amount of the over the counter (OTC) and prescription medication. Over the past three decades, orally disintegrating tablets (ODTs) have gained substantial popularity as a preferable alternative to traditional tablets and capsules due to improved patient compliance. ODTs are solid dosage forms containing medicinal substances which disintegrate rapidly, typically in a matter of seconds, when placed on the tongue. It has been developed for oral administration, also called as fast-melt, rapid-melt, porous tablet or fast disintegrating tablet (FDTs). This article focuses on the patented technologist available and the advance made so far in the field of fabrication of orally disintegrating table. Apart from that this article also provide the detail information of need for development of ODT‟s, formulation challenges and desired characteristics of orally disintegrating tablet, ingredient to be used in formulation of ODT‟s, mechanism of tablet disintegration and evaluation.
The objective of the present study was to enhance the solubility and dissolution rate of Aripipra... more The objective of the present study was to enhance the solubility and dissolution rate of Aripiprazole (APZ) and to prepare orally disintegrating tablet of aripiprazole co-crystals. Various formulations were prepared by direct compression using different concentrations of superdisintegranting agent croscarmellose sodium and sodium starch glycolate. Croscarmellose sodium show good swelling index. Precompression parameters of formulation batches have good flow property. The tablets prepared by direct compression using different concentration of croscarmellose sodium and sodium starch glycolate and croscarmellose sodium show less DT i.e. 22±5 s as compared to sodium starch glycolate. It was found that in-vitro disintegration time decrease with increasing superdisintegrant i.e. Croscarmellose sodium and Sodium Starch Glycolate. Wetting time, Water absorption ratio, % CDR found to be satisfactory. An optimization result shows great impact of compression pressure and superdisintegrant on orally disintegrating tablet. Croscarmellose sodium showed good disintegrant property than Sodium Starch Glycolate in formulating the orally disintegrating tablet. Disintegrated property is depending on compression pressure and concentration of superdisintegrant.
