Upgrading When I do not have Access to the Current License

Hi all,

Currently, the license on my site is owned by one of my administrators who is currently too busy to assist with the site. We have Xenforo 1.x (not sure of the whole version number).

I would love to upgrade to the newest version of Xenforo. We've been around since 2018.

My question is this: If I bought an entirely new license, with installation support, would be be able to import the old site information?

And even if so, would be be more affordable to try and get my administrator to transfer the license to me? Or is it too old to do that?

At this point they might not transfer it even if I asked, but I will ask if the advice is to try that.

Thanks for any help!

An import isn't necessary - you would just upgrade to the latest version using the new files.

If the license has active support then it can be transferred.
