Program
When you check in at JSM this year, you may notice the printed program is much lighter than you remember. It won’t be your imagination! As JSM has grown and attendees have increasingly turned to their smart phones and tablets for information, we realized the printed program book just wasn’t doing the best job of helping attendees find what they were looking for. With more than 600 sessions and presentations every year, it had become a truly massive tome—and, despite our best efforts, it inevitably contained outdated information.
The new reduced-size JSM Quick Guide will help you quickly find the general information you’re looking for, such as floor plans, featured events, and the overall JSM schedule. The complete program can be found online and in the JSM app, where you can build a custom schedule and more easily find up-to-date details for every session. By developing each medium with its strengths and weaknesses in mind, we aim to offer attendees a more useful print and online program.
The JSM Quick Guide will be included in your bag at registration, and you can download the JSM app right now.
With a focus on the 2017 theme, Statistics: It’s Essential, the JSM program consists not only of invited, topic-contributed, and contributed technical sessions, but also poster presentations, roundtable discussions, professional development courses and workshops, award ceremonies, and countless other meetings and activities. Spanning the better part of a week, JSM runs from Saturday, July 29, to Thursday, August 3, with the technical sessions beginning Sunday afternoon.
