Snow Torsos

A brief, but heavy snow in January resulted in the first snow people of the year. Though by the time I got around to taking photos some of them were showing signs of ‘decay’ that they could be aliens or possibly even sculptures. ‘Snow people’ lost the Ikea kit directions 😦 the in thing scarf smile of the influencer face without a face curb side service lonely blue the blue snow group too…

I just want to share a good moment because I think I might complain a lot on here.

I was a little stressed with the atmosphere inside my in-law's house so I stepped outside to get some fresh air. Looking at the snow just starting to melt I remembered a time as a kid, quickly stepping my bare feet into the snow just to see how long I could stand it. I got that urge, so I took my socks off and stepped off the porch. It was just a nice moment to feel that biting squishing cold beneath my feet.

I realized it was the perfect packing snow since it was just starting to melt. So, I went inside and slipped my shoes on and some borrowed gloves and built a tiny snow person. I was just out there by myself, honing my mind on my little project of a tiny snow person. It was very relaxing. I held my creation up to the window for everyone to see.

It was my intention to only make the one little snow person and go inside, but I realized that even though I was playing in the snow I wasn't cold, it was warming up enough for the snow to start melting and to make it bearable especially since I typically hate the winter and the cold, so I decided to take advantage of it and build a bigger one.

Soon my husband joined me outside which resulted in an impromptu snowball fight. It was just a very sweet fun moment. After both of us taking several snow balls to the face, he helped me finish my snow man. And then we broke into another snowball fight when his mom came outside to see what was going on.

It was just one of those nice moments that you can't plan for, just the spontaneity of it made it so much better since I was feeling crummy and stressed just before it. Its a nice reminder that even though I struggle with my mental health sometimes, not all of life is bad. In fact, most of it is wonderful and filled with people who love me and want to have fun with me. Just thought I'd share, if only to reflect back on later.
