you guys concern the fuck out of me, if you hit beans you absolutely SHOULD get stitches if you can. just because you can sorta get by with steristrips in some situations does not mean when someone is asking for medical advice that you tell them they don't need stitches, or that they don't even need medical attention at all. they fucking do. when you go deeper than styro, you SHOULD be getting stitches, when you use steristrips you are increasing your risk of infection, elongating the healing process, risking giving yourself worse sc4rs that can limit your mobility. I get that we are cool with endangering ourselves but do not endanger others with incorrect medical advice. you aren't cool because you don't patch your shit up, you're not worse because you don't get stitches for serious wounds. I understand if you can't afford it, I can't either, but I will still tell someone they need stitches if they do. stop saying stupid shit online, and stop taking advice from children online who say they've been fine so far patching their shit up with bandaids and tape. the point of harm reduction is to reduce harm by giving alternatives AND educating yourself on risks. I'm sorry if being told that not getting stitches for beans could give you a serious infection upsets you, but it's the truth, you need to accept that. stop endangering people with your own unsafe practices.
