and ever since Viktor started using shimmer, I was just waiting for Jayce to find out and reject him. I mean, whenever a character does something like that, they’re rejected and it starts their descent into evil. And when Jayce found him with his purple limbs exposed, I thought that would be it. But then Jayce saved him, and, when Viktor came out, there was this line:

“What am I?”

“You’re… alive.”

Jayce doesn’t care that Viktor was using shimmer, that his body was different, he just cared that Viktor was alive and he would stay that way.

I have never seen that before. And when Viktor leaves, it’s because he’s scared of the Hexcore. Not because Jayce rejected him. And Jayce tried not to lose him. Jayce was willing to give up his power, to try morally dubious techniques, just to keep Viktor around.

like, that amount of commitment… whether it’s romantic or platonic, Jayce loves him so much.
