Kererū in a tree. I've never been so close before, and to capture the delightful sound of their wings was so good. They both didn't care about me, looking right at me and then going back to eating. A third one flew in after this and scared away the second one haha. My favourite bird of all time, very blessed experience for me.
My kārearea stickers finally arrived! These two designs are based off Scout, the advocacy bird at kareareafalcontrust, and some of the profits from each sale will go directly to them.
Bird #49 - the kea (EN) [juvenile depicted]
This parrot is known for being one of the smartest (and probably most mischievous) birds in the world! Visitors to the South Island of New Zealand might find these birds chewing their car or hiking gear. I remember a security camera video of one sneaking into a restaurant at night and stealing a tub of butter. Kea are the only parrots to live in an alpine habitat, and the difficulty of finding food in the snowy, rocky landscape is probably why they like to investigate everything.
@thedancingwalrus-blog now I have :D They're super cool birds, though I've only ever seen them at zoos so far. ty for the ask!

Could you do a poll for the kereru please?
Of course! Beautiful choice, I love their colors.
Have you seen kererū (Hemiphaga novaeseelandiae)?
I have now
Yes, in photos/videos
Yes, irl
I'm not sure
@bokoboy55 since I noticed you'd requested the kererū around the same time :)
Two things about me: I'm from Aotearoa New Zealand and I like Helluva Boss.

Part 2 coming soon :)
Another NZ birb sticker. I did it a while back but uploading it now. I miss those silly birds. It was so nice to lie down in the field somewhere on Mount Victoria, see those fly and hear them squawk as the day was turning to dusk.
Truly left a bit of my heart back in New Zealand.
