that might be true, but it might not be true. she may actually need time to cool off, because it is too intense for her, but she is a bad gauge of her own mental state, and leaves herself to get in trouble. or she is in fact anxious of losing you, now that she has only just acquired your care, and is terrified of the question you just asked, so she wants to shut it down as quickly as possible without even thinking of her feelings. you can think of other cases where we would get an unreliable answer this way.
