It's fucking weird to be on a list of Zionists when I'm not a Zionist and have said so repeatedly.

I hate the sound of babies crying, but I can't hate a baby. They've been here for like five minutes and approach this situation with an unhesitant attitude of "my needs are unmet and I am going to make it everybody's problem", and I respect that.

Something I read years ago and completely agree with, is that human babies are pretty helpless compared to many other species. We can't walk or run within hours of being born, as many mammals can. We don't have teeth yet, to defend ourselves. We can't get our own food for a long time.

But one thing human babies are really good at - often within seconds of being born - is asking for help.

As we mature and gain new skills - vocabulary both verbal and written, gestures, facial expressions, and so forth - the way we ask for help changes. But babies have just one way of asking for help - filling their lungs with air and wailing. And they're right to do so! Their needs are unmet and they cannot do a damn thing about it except request assistance.

There's plenty of adults who could stand to take some pointers.

i think its really cool just how many ppl suddenly started finding me uncool & stupid as soon as i started dealing w/ psychosis and being phisically disabled and being unable to properly pretend that i am a functional being & totally not a social function that enables abelist & sanist oppression by removing extremely vulnerable people from their social safety nets but also penalizes any kind of genuine mental health struggle unable to be made quirky and relatable

anyway its becayse even though i do make very many typos still people have this very abelist habit they refuse to accept any kind of critisism on in where they just straight up will not make any attempt to read let alone respect the opinion of someone who makes an etxremely large ammount of typos- and when you point out that it is directly abelist to call people ret- stupid for having an incontrollable dexterity issue they get even more mad at you for making them look bad and for bringing the mood down

anf it was at the point that i genuinely couldnt speak to anyone online because i just couldnt escape it and i wasnt literally phisically well enough to be able to type properly so- as a person already very isolated and with increasingly worstening dissociation just would go weeks at a time without interacting with anyone

and while obviously i do think people who are overly cruel to me because of my dexterity issue are dickheads i am not in the mental state to actually deal with the same level of abelism on a daily basis- thus the self-censoring

Signs of a heart attack are different for each gender yet we only really teach the male warning signs. Make sure you’re aware of both and spread it to as many other women as possible!

EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAVE TAKEN A CPR CLASS I have had to be that person who points out that the training videos ALWAYS frame the “male” symptoms as the default universal heart attack experience, while the “female” symptoms are framed as though they’re a deviation from the norm, rather than the primary symptom set that cis women experience. 

ALSO: I just showed this post to my roommate, who is an MD at a clinic that specializes in care for the LGBT community in the Baltimore area. I asked her  whether hormones were responsible for the difference in the “male/female” symptom arrays. I asked how that would apply to her trans patients (which, she treats a LOT of trans patients). She said, basically, that the longer you’ve taken testosterone the more likely you are to get the intense chest pressure and the arm pain, versus the upper back pressure and shortness of breath.

Obviously I am not a doctor myself, consult your own health care provider, etc.

Reblogging this comment because this is the FIRST TIME I’ve ever seen someone address what XYZ medical condition would look like in trans patients. Also this is partly why my great-grandma died: the (male) doctor dismissed her heart attack as basically indigestion, because she didn’t have the typical male symptoms.
