Did you know

If you perform action Harmlessly Bother Cat you can receive Sounds

If you perform action Ignore Cat you can also receive Sounds, with a percentage chance that they will be Noises instead

If cat performs action "Harmlessly" Bother Human it can receive Sounds

i know it's hard. but i so firmly believe the strongest antidote to loneliness is reaching out first. and continuing to reach out. again and again and again. excise any scrap of shame you hold about being the person who texts first or pitches the plan or asks to get lunch. everyone is tired and busy and struggling. and afraid of feeling unwanted and unimportant. don't let the people you love feel that way. reach out first. don't be a ghost in your own life.

I know this is going to make me sound pretensions but I have to get it off my chest. I feel an unimaginable rage when someone posts a photo and is like "this picture looks like a renaissance painting lol" when the photo clearly has the lighting, colors and composition of a baroque or romantic painting. There are differences in these styles and those differences are important and labeling every "classical" looking painting as renaissance is annoying and upsetting to me. And anytime I come across one of those posts I have to put down my phone and go take a walk because they make me so mad

In case you're curious here's what I mean.

Renaissance(distinct lines, stability and the individual man):

Baroque (bold, chaotic, dramatic):

Romantic(romanticize the simple hard working life):

Do you see the difference?

this post has re-wired my brain in the best way

A bus may have only a couple of passengers, especially at the beginning or end of its route. But let's also take fuel efficiency into account.

If there's one person on a bus because that person cannot or doesn't want to drive, the bus is succeeding.

I read a study once on the fuel efficiency of various types of commuter vehicles (car, bus, train) on a per person basis and the number of people needed riding public transit to match the "efficiency" of cars is shockingly low. A bus needs to carry like 3-4 people to be fuel efficient, and trains require 2-3 per train car. Both often carry two dozen or more during peak hours, more than justifying any perceived requirements for efficiency for the train or bus to provide service the entire day.

Also I think people should ride a bus that has space and the occasional place to sit, not packed like a sardines sweating and elbowing each other. The idea that to cut off expenses you shoud have as few buses as possible, manned by drivers with long hours and terrible conditions is insane. You shouldn't apply profit-above-all logic to a public service.

Controversial opinion but i think public transport should be at least a little bit comfortable.

Every time I learn new things about vietnam its like

Americans: “it’s like the vietnamese had some kind of mystery superpower death magic or something”

Vietnamese: “the americans weren’t trained to avoid pointy sticks”

This post legitimately knocked me out of a doomscroll. Had to put down my phone and everything and stare at a wall.

I really do regret my inaction the most. Every time. All of my future problems are always caused by things I failed to do in the present. And every time, I get so mad at past Me for not even trying because I’m so afraid to fail.

Like. Damn. Didn’t expect pixel art of some planets to hit me so hard.
