TRAFFICKING ALERT!
I was in public once and I had a slightly awkward interaction with a stranger. Nothing happened and I was fine and there was no indication of ill intent. Stay safe! This could happen to you! Tell everyone you know!
if it weren’t for my elite bene gesserit thin slicing abilities that are constantly warning me that every slightly unusual behavior I witness a stranger performing is an actively dangerous sexual threat and evidence of a cunning and complex web of criminal conspiracy, who knows what would have happened!
Top 10 Times I Was Almost Kidnapped And Sex Trafficked
-one time in a department store a Black man made eye contact with me and didn’t immediately avert his gaze
-one time a panhandler approached me and asked for money
-one time I saw two muscular men on the same block downtown and they seemed like they knew each other???
-one time I had a conversation with an autistic man and he didn’t understand my social cues of disinterest
-I got catcalled from a passing car once
-one time I saw a Black man walking with a white woman and if I squinted and projected my discomfort on her I could sort of imagine that she looked scared and unhappy, or maybe she just needed to poop, but she was like probably his captive or something
-once I saw a child that appeared to maybe be a different race from the adult they were with
-a woman tried to scam me into buying something for more than it was worth and it was probably a scheme to get me alone and stuff me into a trunk and smuggle me to Mexico
-I heard a group of people speaking a language other than English to each other and I just knew they were describing how they planned to sell me into sexual slavery
-a woman with a buzzcut told me I had a cute dog at Petsmart
i know some of this might sound like jokes, but just as a data point: i know a black guy whose wife is a white lawyer, and it is common that, if they go out to dinner together without their kid, the wait staff will spend the entire meal trying to subtly hint to her that if she needs the police called they are ready to help.
so like, yes, this level of paranoia is a real thing and is in fact probably behind a lot of the worries you hear.
Reblog if you’re 30 or older
This is an experiment to see if there really are as few of us as people think. You can also use this to freak out your followers who think you’re 25 or something. Yay!
I love talking nonsense with you and I hope that we can talk nonsense with each other for the rest of our lives.
demonic possession wouldn’t even affect me, i would just assume it’s The Symptoms
“Why did God create the appendix? So that surgeons don’t go hungry.”
— A surgeon
I did not interpret this the way it was probably intended
Consider the last post you made about an individual character from any fandom.
That character is now your roommate.
No such thing as a moral horse. The few of them that understand of such things actively choose evil.
Oh, the moral horse also turns back evil as soon as she sobers up.
adding songs from musicals to character playlists is so stupid like yeah this works just ignore some of that really specific stuff
whenever you take too much time to write something know it is because stephen king has been stealing your life force
Concept: cursed blade rehabilitation center. Destroying a sentient weapon is expensive and highly unethical, so adventurers bring them to the center where highly trained staff can care for them and eventually find them forever homes. It turns out most cursed weapons are products of trauma and are not strictly evil themselves. Some blades turn out to be fiercely protective companions. Others don't even want to be weapons at all, finding joy in simple work like blacksmithing or farming. Most blades just need to be loved.
A pack of bandits descend upon a seemingly undefended town. But the blacksmith's hammer, the farmer's scythe, the woodsman's axe, they have not forgotten what they once were, and they *will* defend the town that they have come to love.
This sweet girl has been with us for seven seasons. She was forged in the heart of a volcano and would be ideal for anyone with a preexisting fire affinity (she's a cuddler and is guaranteed to keep you warm in winter). She still loves burning, but it turns out you can only reduce the world to ash once. She would be perfectly suited for forest management that regularly requires controlled burns.
This weary old soul has grown tired of bloodshed and would much rather spend his days as an ominous decoration in a tavern or common room, a perfect fit for an adventurer looking to leave their dungeon crawling days behind. He likes peoplewatching with his single glowing eye, preferably from high, prominent locations with views of entrances and exits.
Dark king Grütmore’s edge of annihilation consumed 10,000 souls in the first era, and as it turns out, statistically a lot of those souls heard stories that never got written down. It works in a library now.
The throngler, however, is just irrevocably fucked up. We put it in a stone in a forest and hoped nobody ever finds it
The scariest shit I see always comes from people who are quite confident that, being very loving, they could not be doing anything abusive.
THIS. THIS A THOUSAND TIMES. YOU CAN LOVE SOMEONE AND STILL ABUSE THEM. PEOPLE WHO ABUSE THEIR LOVED ONES DON'T AUTOMATICALLY STOP LOVING THEM. THEY HURT PEOPLE THEY LOVE. SOMETIMES IT'S BECAUSE THEY LOVE PEOPLE BUT THEIR MEAN OR SELFISH OR WHATEVER. SOMETIMES IT'S BECAUSE THEY LOVE PEOPLE BUT IT'S A TOXIC LOVE WHERE THEY OBJECTIFY OR ACT OVERLY POSSESSIVE OVER SOMEONE ELSE. THAT ALSO APPLIES TO PARENTS AND PEOPLE WHO AREN'T JUST ROMANTIC INTERESTS BTW. YOU CAN LOVE SOMEONE AND STILL ABUSE AND HURT THEM.
[Image description: a twitter thread by @/theoceanblooms "mary" which says "People hate humanising depictions of abusers because it forces them, for just a few minutes, to live in the complicated emotional reality that many people trapped in abuse endure for years and even decades.
"Media which depicts "bad people" as also human and even, at times, likeable and warm, is not committing a moral crime it is accurately reflecting reality.
A tweet by "Grouchiest Marxiest II: The Wrath Of Khum" which says "It also forces people to live in the complicated emotional reality of their own capacity for inflicting abuse."
mary replies "This too. If you think abusers are all so evil as to not be human you never have to examine your own toxic or abusive behaviour or how it affects others."]
