I may be a canine, but I really dislike a lot of meat. Despite being a creature that eats a lot of bird creatures, I absolutely do not like chicken a lot of the time. I'm very picky when it comes to meat. I'm easily freaked out by unexpected changes in texture, taste, consistency, etc.
I hate most fatty meat besides fatty fish and seafood. The texture is absolutely disgusting, and I have a lot of trouble with eating a lot of food because of this.
It's extremely unhealthy, but I have a tendency to enjoy fast food over home-cooked meals because they feel "safer" to eat. Taco Bell is a good example of what I like. Their beef is really, really "safe" for me. I've never had any significant issues with their taco meat. The chicken is still forever an "eh" for me, but I really enjoy their beef. It's easy to chew, it's the same texture throughout, and it tastes pretty good to me.
But yeah, I am very iffy on meat. The second something feels off, I can't finish it. I am put-off. Bonus points if the taste changes even slightly while in a fatty part. Sometimes it smells off too.
To add because I'm forgetful: This is also why I am very iffy on hunting for my own prey. I already know the texture is going to drive me away. Taste is whatever compared to texture. The texture has got to be one of the make or break factors of a meal for me. I'd love to hunt mice, but the texture... oh gosh.
Please tell me I'm not alone in this.
