     She fought in the Second World War, where she was mentioned in despatches.² She gained the rank of Warrant Officer in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force.² Her married name became Byers.

     Frank May Reid Byers was born on 27 May 1907.¹ He was the son of Sir John William Byers and Fanny Reid.² He married Marjorie Joyce Llewellyn, daughter of Sir David Richard Llewellyn, 1st Bt. and Magdalene Anne Harries, on 24 June 1947.¹ He died on 13 April 1973 at age 65.¹
