John Dawson Eccles, 2nd Viscount Eccles

     John Dawson Eccles, 2nd Viscount Eccles was born on 20 April 1931.1 He is the son of David McAdam Eccles, 1st Viscount Eccles and Hon. Sybil Frances Dawson.2 He married Diana Catherine Sturge, Baroness Eccles of Moulton, daughter of Raymond Wilson Sturge and Margaret Sylvia Keep, on 29 January 1955.1
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Territorial Army.1 He was managing director of Head Wrightson between 1955 and 1977.1 He was a director of Nuclear Power Group Ltd between 1968 and 1974.2 He was a director of Glynwed International plc between 1972 and 1996.1 He was a director of Investors in Industry plc between 1974 and 1988.1 He was member of the Monopolies & Mergers Commission between 1976 and 1985.1 He was a director of Davy Int plc between 1977 and 1981.1 He was chairman of Chamberlin & Hill plc in 1982.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1985.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) by Silsoe College, Cranfield Institute of Technology, Silsoe, Bedfordshire, EnglandG, in 1989.1 He was chairman of Courtaulds Textiles plc between 1995 and 2000.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Eccles, of Chute, co.      Hon. Simon Dawson Eccles was born on 11 September 1934.1 He is the son of David McAdam Eccles, 1st Viscount Eccles and Hon. Sybil Frances Dawson.2 He married Sheelin Lorraine Ryan, daughter of Henry Edmund Ryan, on 17 October 1961.1 He and Sheelin Lorraine Ryan were divorced in 1986.1

     Minnie Ethel Yarrow is the daughter of Sir Alfred Fernandez Yarrow, 1st Bt. and Minnie Florence Franklin.1,2 She married Bertrand Edward Dawson, 1st and last Viscount Dawson of Penn, son of Henry Dawson, on 18 December 1900.3
     Minnie Ethel Yarrow usually went by her middle name of Ethel.3 From 18 December 1900, her married name became Dawson.1 She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1918.3 She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)3 After her marriage, Minnie Ethel Yarrow was styled as Baroness Dawson of Penn on 8 February 1920. After her marriage, Minnie Ethel Yarrow was styled as Viscountess Dawson of Penn on 30 October 1936.

Sir Alfred Fernandez Yarrow, 1st Bt.1

     Sir Alfred Fernandez Yarrow, 1st Bt. was born on 13 January 1842.2 He is the son of Edgar Williams Yarrow.3 He married, firstly, Minnie Florence Franklin on 24 March 1875.2 He married, secondly, Eleanor Cecilia Barnes, daughter of W. Goodwin Barnes, on 2 December 1922.3 He died on 24 January 1932 at age 90.3
     He was created 1st Baronet Yarrow, of Homestead, co. Surrey [U.K.] on 29 January 1916.2 He was an engineer.2 He was chairman of Yarrow & Company, shipbuilders before 1922.2 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1922.2

     Hon. Ursula Margaret Dawson was born in 1907. She was the daughter of Bertrand Edward Dawson, 1st and last Viscount Dawson of Penn and Minnie Ethel Yarrow.1,2 She married Lt.-Col. Sir Ian Frank Bowater, son of Major Sir Frank Henry Bowater, 1st Bt. and Ethel Anita Fryar, on 10 December 1927.1 She died on 16 November 1999.1
     Her married name became Bowater.

     Hon. Rosemary Monica Dawson was born in 1913. She is the daughter of Bertrand Edward Dawson, 1st and last Viscount Dawson of Penn and Minnie Ethel Yarrow. She married Sir John Garmondsway Wrightson, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Thomas Garmondsay Guy Wrightson, 2nd Bt. and Gwendolin Cotterill Neame, on 30 November 1939.1 She died on 13 June 1998.1
     Her married name became Wrightson.

     Sir John Garmondsway Wrightson, 3rd Bt. was born on 18 June 1911.2 He is the son of Sir Thomas Garmondsay Guy Wrightson, 2nd Bt. and Gwendolin Cotterill Neame.3 He married Hon. Rosemary Monica Dawson, daughter of Bertrand Edward Dawson, 1st and last Viscount Dawson of Penn and Minnie Ethel Yarrow, on 30 November 1939.2 He died in 1983.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Durham Light Infantry.2 He fought in the Second World War in 1940, in France with 23rd Division, Belgium and Germany with 6th Airborne Division, and was mentioned in dispatches.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Wrightson, of Neasham Hall, co. Durham and Eryholme, co. York [U.K., 1900] on 7 January 1950.3 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1953.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Durham in 1959.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Durham in 1961.2

     Sir Thomas Garmondsay Guy Wrightson, 2nd Bt. was born on 21 August 1871.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Wrightson, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Wise.2 He married Gwendolin Cotterill Neame, daughter of George Harding Neame, on 6 October 1909.1 He died on 7 January 1950 at age 78.1
     Sir Thomas Garmondsay Guy Wrightson, 2nd Bt. usually went by his middle name of Guy.1 He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1892 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1897 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He gained the rank of Major in the 5th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Wrightson, of Neasham Hall, co. Durham and Eryholme, co. York [U.K., 1900] on 18 June 1921.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Durham.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the North Riding, Yorkshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Durham.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Durham in 1926.1
