Sir John Tankerville Goldney1

     Sir John Tankerville Goldney was born on 15 June 1846 at Pickwick, Corsham, Wiltshire, England.1 He was the son of Sir Gabriel Goldney, 1st Bt. and Mary Anne Alexander.1,2 He married, firstly, Jane Macgregor Laird, daughter of John Laird and Elizabeth Hurry, on 9 February 1875 at Parish Church, Birkenhead, Cheshire, England.1 He married, secondly, Alice Frances Goldney, daughter of Major Frederick Charles Napier Goldney and Edith Caroline Wilkins, on 15 February 1913 at Ealing Parish Church, London, England.1 He died on 11 April 1920 at age 73 at Monks Park, Corsham, Wiltshire, England.1
     He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)2 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1869 entitled to practise as a barrister-at-law.2 He held the office of Attorney-General and Admiralty Advocate [Leeward Islands] between 1880 and 1881.2 He held the office of Judge of the High Court [British Guinea] between 1883 and 1887.2 He held the office of Judge [Straits Settlement] between 1887 and 1892.2 He held the office of Chief Justice of Trinidad between 1892 and 1900.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Wiltshire.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Wiltshire.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Wiltshire in 1910.2 He lived at Monks Park, Corsham, Wiltshire, England.2

     Sir Gabriel Goldney, 1st Bt. was born on 25 July 1813.2 He was the son of Harry Goldney and Elizabeth Reade Burrough.2 He married Mary Anne Alexander, daughter of Richard Hayward Alexander, on 16 September 1839.2 He died on 8 May 1900 at age 86.3
     He held the office of Mayor of Chippenham in 1853.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Chippenham between 1865 and 1885.2 He was created 1st Baronet Goldney, of Bradenstoke Abbey, Wiltshire [U.K.] on 11 May 1880.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Wiltshire.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Wiltshire.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Wiltshire in 1893.2 He lived at Beechfield, Corsham, Wiltshire, England.2 He lived at Bradenstoke Abbey, Wiltshire, England.2

Mary Anne Alexander1

     Mary Anne Alexander was the daughter of Richard Hayward Alexander.1 She married Sir Gabriel Goldney, 1st Bt., son of Harry Goldney and Elizabeth Reade Burrough, on 16 September 1839.1 She died on 23 February 1898.1
     From 16 September 1839, her married name became Goldney.

Joyce Harpur1

     Joyce Harpur was the daughter of Colonel Charles Harpur.1 She married Major Hon. George Nathaniel Rous, son of George Edward John Mowbray Rous, 3rd Earl of Stradbroke and Helena Violet Alice Fraser, on 1 September 1949.1 She died in 1985.1
     She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 From 1 September 1949, her married name became Rous.1
