     Clara Annie Ashley is the daughter of John Ashley.1 She married Harry Bernard Taylor, Baron Taylor of Mansfield, son of Henry Taylor and Mary Ann Wheat, on 26 March 1921.1
     From 26 March 1921, her married name became Taylor.1 After her marriage, Clara Annie Ashley was styled as Baroness Taylor of Mansfield on 1 June 1966.

     Sir William Johnson Taylor, 1st Bt. was born on 23 October 1902.1 He was the son of Frank Taylor and Margaret Elizabeth Johnson.1 He married Mary Annie Hall, daughter of Thomas Bentley Hall, on 30 April 1930.1 He died on 26 July 1972 at age 69.2
     He was educated at Archbishop Holgate's Grammar School, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the West Riding, Yorkshire in 1943.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1943.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the West Riding, Yorkshire in 1947.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bradford North between 1950 and 1964.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1951.1 He held the office of Parliament Secretary to Minister of Supply between 1957 and 1959.1 He held the office of Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Air Ministry between 1959 and 1962.1 He was created 1st Baronet Taylor, of Cawthorne, in the West Riding of Yorkshire [U.K.] on 26 January 1963.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Hallamshire in 1968.1 He was appointed Commander, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.)1 On his death his baronetcy became extinct.2
