     Maj.-Gen. Henry Charles Edward Vernon was born on 28 September 1779.¹ He was the son of Henry Vernon and Penelope Graham.¹ He married Maria Cooke, daughter of George John Cooke and Penelope Bowyer, on 28 February 1804.¹ He died on 22 March 1861 at age 81.¹
