Hon. Elizabeth Widdrington was baptised on 30 March 1689.1 She was the daughter of William Widdrington, 3rd Baron Widdrington and Hon. Alathea Fairfax.1 She married Marmaduke Langdale, 4th Baron Langdale of Holme, son of Marmaduke Langdale, 3rd Baron Langdale of Holme and Frances Draycott, on 3 August 1706.1 She died on 7 January 1765 at age 75.1

He fought in the Basuto War in 1879.1 He gained the rank of Surgeon-Major in the Cape Mounted Rifles.1 He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.), for rescuing a corporal under heavy fire, for his actions on 5 June 1879.1 He was Principal Medical Officer of the Colonial Forces.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)1
