     Frederick Douglas Greeves was born on 14 July 1907.1 He was the son of Robert Douglas Greeves and Sarah Louisa Hobson.2 He married Margaret Frances Hope Douglas, daughter of Major Alexander Frederick Douglas, on 7 September 1940.1 He died on 16 June 1961 at age 53.1
     He was educated at Dungannon Royal School, Dungannon, County Tyrone, Ireland.1 He graduated from Queen's University, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland, in 1930 with a Master of Science (M.Sc.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Squadron Leader of the Royal Air Force.1
