     Thomas Packer Walter Butt was born in 1824 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.¹ He was the son of Thomas Packer Butt and Ann Sheppard.¹ He married Eliza Lutener, daughter of Dr. William Lutener and Eliza Hughes, in July 1853 at Gretna Green, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.¹ He died on 27 April 1900 at Arie Court, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.¹
