     He gained the rank of Major in the King's African Rifles.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) and bar.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹

     Margaret Mary Evans is the daughter of Reverend William Marsh Lee Evans.¹ She married Major Charles Edward Onslow, son of Major George Arthur Onslow and Charlotte Riou Benson, in July 1955.¹
     From July 1955, her married name became Onslow.¹ She lived in 2003 at Nairobi, Kenya.¹
