     Douglas Beresford Malise Ronald Graham, 5th Duke of Montrose was born on 7 November 1852.1 He was the son of James Graham, 4th Duke of Montrose and Hon. Caroline Agnes Horsley-Beresford.1 He married Violet Hermione Graham, daughter of Sir Frederick Ulric Graham, 3rd Bt. and Lady Jane Hermione St. Maur, on 24 July 1876.2 He died on 10 December 1925 at age 73.1

     Violet Hermione Graham was the daughter of Sir Frederick Ulric Graham, 3rd Bt. and Lady Jane Hermione St. Maur.1 She married Douglas Beresford Malise Ronald Graham, 5th Duke of Montrose, son of James Graham, 4th Duke of Montrose and Hon. Caroline Agnes Horsley-Beresford, on 24 July 1876.1 She died on 21 November 1940.1
     After her marriage, Violet Hermione Graham was styled as Duchess of Montrose on 24 July 1876. She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)1 She was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.)1 She was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.)1

     Sir Frederick Ulric Graham, 3rd Bt. was born on 2 April 1820.1 He was the son of Rt. Hon. Sir James Robert George Graham, 2nd Bt. and Fanny Callender.1 He married Lady Jane Hermione St. Maur, daughter of Edward Adolphus St. Maur, 12th Duke of Somerset and Jane Georgiana Sheridan, on 26 October 1852.1 He died on 8 March 1888 at age 67.1
     He gained the rank of officer in the 1st Life Guards.1 He was Attaché to Vienna in 1842.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Graham, of Netherby, Cumberland [G.B., 1783] on 25 October 1861.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Cumberland in 1866.1

     Theophilus Clinton, 4th Earl of Lincoln was born circa 1600.2 He was the son of Thomas Clinton, 3rd Earl of Lincoln and Elizabeth Knyvett.3 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Gorges, daughter of Sir Arthur Gorges and Lady Elizabeth Clinton.2 He married, firstly, Bridget Fiennes, daughter of William Fiennes, 1st Viscount Saye and Sele and Elizabeth Temple, circa 1622.2 He died on 21 May 1667.2
     He was also known as Theophilus Fiennes.2 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1616.2 He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Lincoln [E., 1572] on 15 January 1618/19.2 He succeeded as the 12th Lord Clinton [E., 1299] on 15 January 1618/19.2 He was educated at Queens' College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.2 He was he raised 300 volunteers to assist the dispossessed Elector Palatine, brother-in-law of King Charles I, during the Thirty Years War in November 1624.2 In 1626 he was imprisoned in the Tower of London for opposing King Charles I's forced loan.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1642 in the Regiment of Foot, Parliamentarian Army.2 He was Resident Commissioner for Parliament with the Scottish Army on 16 December 1645.2 He held the office of Speaker of the House of Lords on 1 August 1647.2 He was Commissioner for the Colonies in December 1660.2
