     He fought in the Crimean War. He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 42nd Royal Highlanders.1

     Mary Popham White was the daughter of Reverend Richard Walton White.2 She married Lt.-Col. John Cameron Macpherson, son of Lt.-Col. Duncan Macpherson of Cluny Macpherson, 13th Chief and Catherine Cameron, in 1852.1 She died on 8 February 1899.1
     From 1852, her married name became Macpherson.

     Captain Duncan Macpherson was born on 29 May 1853.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. John Cameron Macpherson and Mary Popham White.2 He married Edith Julia de Capell Brooke, daughter of Captain Arthur Watson de Capell Brooke and Eleanor Frances Thornhill, on 21 September 1899.1 He died on 3 June 1920 at age 67.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.2 He lived at Westlake, West Coker, Yeovil, Somerset, England.1

     Francis Cameron Macpherson of Cluny Macpherson, 19th Chief was born on 3 October 1901.1 He was the son of Captain Duncan Macpherson and Edith Julia de Capell Brooke.2 He married Elsa Skoglund, daughter of Signe Skoglund, on 8 October 1930.1 He died on 1 January 1966 at age 64.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 14 October 1930.1 He held the position of 19th, by tanistry Chief of the Clan Macpherson from in 1932.1
