     Henric Nicholas MacLeod was born on 29 January 1929.¹ He is the son of Torquil Bright MacLeod, 16th of Raasay and Helen Christie Nicholas.² He married Dorothy Nugent, daughter of S. B. Nugent, on 9 October 1954.¹
