Charles Somerville MacAlister of Loup and Kennox1

     Charles Somerville MacAlister of Loup and Kennox was born on 15 September 1797.1 He was the son of Charles MacAlister of Loup and Kennox and Janet Somerville.2 He married Mary Adeline Brabazon Lyon, daughter of Captain Edward Lyon and Anna Catherine Wynstanley, in January 1828.1 He died in 1891.1
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Ayrshire.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Ayr and Wigton Militia.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Ayrshire.1

     Captain Edward Lyon married Anna Catherine Wynstanley, daughter of George Frederick Wynstanley.1
     He lived at County Dublin, Ireland.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1

Mary Adeline Brabazon Lyon1

     Mary Adeline Brabazon Lyon was the daughter of Captain Edward Lyon and Anna Catherine Wynstanley.2,1 She married Charles Somerville MacAlister of Loup and Kennox, son of Charles MacAlister of Loup and Kennox and Janet Somerville, in January 1828.1 She died in 1861.1
     From January 1828, her married name became MacAlister.

Lt.-Col. Charles Somerville McAlester of Loup and Kennox1

     Lt.-Col. Charles Somerville McAlester of Loup and Kennox was born on 18 March 1830.1 He was the son of Charles Somerville MacAlister of Loup and Kennox and Mary Adeline Brabazon Lyon.2 He married Williamina Pollock Morris, daughter of William Pollock Morris of Craig, in 1867.1 He died on 17 January 1903 at age 72.1
     He gained the rank of Adjutant in the 3rd Royal Scots Fusiliers.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 46th Foot.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Ayrshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Ayrshire.1

     Mary Adeline MacAlister was the daughter of Charles Somerville MacAlister of Loup and Kennox and Mary Adeline Brabazon Lyon.2 She married James Hay Boyd of Townsend in 1864.1 She died in 1894.1
     From 1864, her married name became Boyd.

     James Hay Boyd of Townsend married Mary Adeline MacAlister, daughter of Charles Somerville MacAlister of Loup and Kennox and Mary Adeline Brabazon Lyon, in 1864.1 He died in 1904.1
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 20th Regiment.1 At Townsend, Ayrshire, Scotland, (an unknown value.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1

     From October 1931, her married name became Roberts-Hay-Boyd.
