John Urquhart of Laithers was the son of John Urquhart of Craigfintray and Elizabeth Gordon.2 He married Isabel Irvine of Drum, daughter of Alexander Irvine, 8th of Drum and Lady Elizabeth Keith.1 He died in 1631.1

Sir John Urquhart of Cromarty was born in 1633.2 He is the son of John Urquhart and Elizabeth Innes of Innes.2 He married Lady Barbara Mackenzie, daughter of George Mackenzie, 2nd Earl of Seaforth and Barbara Forbes, in 1655.2 He died in 1678.2
