     General Sir Robert Blair was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)¹

     Elizabeth Blair is the daughter of General Sir Robert Blair.² She married Colonel William Swinton, son of John Swinton, Lord Swinton and Margaret Mitchelson, in 1815.¹
     From 1815, her married name became Swinton.

     Major William Swinton was born in 1816.¹ He was the son of Colonel William Swinton and Elizabeth Blair.² He died in 1855 at Sebastopol, Russia.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Artillery.¹

     Edward Swinton was born in 1824.¹ He was the son of Colonel William Swinton and Elizabeth Blair.² He died in 1852.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Artillery.¹

     Robert Blair Swinton was born in 1829.¹ He was the son of Colonel William Swinton and Elizabeth Blair.² He married Elizabeth Dorothy Rundall, daughter of J. Rundall, in 1858.¹ He died in 1912.¹
     He was educated at Bath College, Bath, Somerset, England^G.² He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, England.¹ He was with the Madras Civil Service.¹

     Elizabeth Dorothy Rundall was the daughter of J. Rundall.² She married Robert Blair Swinton, son of Colonel William Swinton and Elizabeth Blair, in 1858.¹ She died on 5 April 1915.¹
     From 1858, her married name became Swinton.

     Robert Rundall Swinton was born in July 1860.¹ He was the son of Robert Blair Swinton and Elizabeth Dorothy Rundall.² He died on 26 September 1890 at age 30 at India, killed in action.²
     He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 44th Gurkha Light Infantry.¹

     Lt.-Col. Francis Edward Swinton was born on 9 June 1866.¹ He was the son of Robert Blair Swinton and Elizabeth Dorothy Rundall.² He died on 23 December 1927 at age 61, unmarried.¹
     He was educated at Newcastle-under-Lyme High School, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England.² He was educated at St. Bartholomew's Hospital Medical School, London, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Medical Service.¹ He was Deputy Director-General, Indian Medical Service.² He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1919.¹

     Maj.-Gen. Sir Ernest Dunlop Swinton was born on 21 October 1868.¹ He was the son of Robert Blair Swinton and Elizabeth Dorothy Rundall.² He married Grace Louisa Clayton, daughter of Sir Edward Gilbert Clayton and Georgina Elizabeth Sykes Clayton, on 29 January 1897.¹ He died on 15 January 1951 at age 82.¹
