     Irenie Dening was born on 19 November 1883 at Peshawar, Pakistan.1 She was the daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir Lewis Dening and Beatrice Catherine Scott.1 She married Major Lionel Gascoigne, son of Reverend Herbert Gascoigne and Louisa Beatrice Langworthy, on 28 June 1906 at Christ Church, Pachmarhi, Bengal, India.1 She died on 27 September 1974 at age 90.1
     From 28 June 1906, her married name became Gascoigne.1

John Swinton of that Ilk1

     John Swinton of that Ilk was the son of John Swinton, Lord Swinton and Margaret Mitchelson.2 He married Mary Anne Hepburn, daughter of Robert Hepburn of Clerkington and Isabella Mitchelson, on 9 July 1796 at Borthwick, Midlothian, Scotland.2,3 He died in 1820.2
     He was a practising Advocate.2 He held the office of Sheriff of Berwickshire.2

     General Samuel Swinton was the son of John Swinton, Lord Swinton and Margaret Mitchelson.2 He died in 1825, unmarried.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 74th Highlanders.1 He fought in the Battle of Assaye.1

     Lt.-Col. Robert Swinton was the son of John Swinton, Lord Swinton and Margaret Mitchelson.2 He married unknown daughter Elphinstone, daughter of Alexander Elphinstone of Glack and Jean Mackenzie.1 He died, without issue.1
     He was Lieutenant-Colonel in the Honourable East India Company Service.1
