     Sir William Skipwith was the son of Henry Skipwith and Jane Hall.2 He married, firstly, Margaret Cave, daughter of Roger Cave and Margaret Cecil.1 He married, secondly, Jane Roberts, daughter of John Roberts.1 He died on 3 May 1610.1
     He lived at Cotes, Leicestershire, England.2 He held the office of Sheriff of Leicestershire in 1597. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Leicestershire in 1601.1 He was appointed Knight in 1603. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Leicester in 1605.
