     Brig.-Gen. Alexander William Roper was born on 3 July 1862.1 He was the son of Sir Henry Roper and Charlotte Lydia Pleydell-Bouverie.1,2 He died on 6 March 1940 at age 77, unmarried.1
     He fought in the Nile Expedition between 1884 and 1885.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Engineers.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1914.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.1

     Eliza Roper was the daughter of William Roper and Elizabeth Fish.1,2 She married Hon. Peter Boyle de Blaquiere, son of John Blaquiere, 1st Baron de Blaquiere of Ardkill and Eleanor Dobson, on 26 November 1818.1 She died on 18 February 1881.1
     Her married name became de Blaquiere.

     Hon. Peter Boyle de Blaquiere was born on 26 April 1783 at Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.2 He was the son of John Blaquiere, 1st Baron de Blaquiere of Ardkill and Eleanor Dobson.1,3 He married, firstly, Eliza O'Brien, daughter of Denis O'Brien, on 13 September 1804.2,3 He married, secondly, Eliza Roper, daughter of William Roper and Elizabeth Fish, on 26 November 1818.3 He died on 23 October 1860 at age 77 at Yorkville, Toronto, Ontario, CanadaG.1,2
     He gained the rank of Midshipman in the Royal Navy, under Captain William Bligh.3 He fought in the Battle of Camperdown.3 He emigrated to CanadaG arriving on 1837.2 He held the office of Chancellor of the University of Toronto between May 1850 and October 1852.1,2 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [Canada]3
