Mary Sharp Bethune was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry Alexander Bethune and Elinor Mary Watt.2,3 She married Lt.-Col. Harry Francis Keir Wedderburn, son of Harry George Wedderburn and Jane Trevelvan Carmichael, on 5 October 1929.1 She died in 1996.1

Andrew Harry Wedderburn-Bethune was born on 4 December 1933.1 He is the son of Lt.-Col. Harry Francis Keir Wedderburn and Mary Sharp Bethune.2 He married Mary Felicity Lovat Frazer, daughter of Dr. Robert Bruce Frazer, on 23 April 1960.1
He was given the name of Andrew Harry Wedderburn at birth. He was educated at Trinity College, Glenalmond, Perthshire, Scotland.1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 In March 1960 his name was legally changed to Andrew Harry Wedderburn-Bethune under teh terms of his grandfather's will.1 He retired from the military in 1964, with the rank of Captain, late of the Black Watch.1 He lived in 2003 at Mountquhanie, Cupar, Fife, Scotland.1
