     Gladys Maud Garnar was born in 1896 at Lewisham, Kent, England.2 She was the daughter of Sir James Wilson Garnar and Mary Ann Maud Lillie Tyler.3,2 She married Sir Edgar Henry Newton, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Louis Arthur Newton, 1st Bt. and Eleanor Jane Faulder, on 17 February 1917.1 She died on 18 November 1966.1
     From 17 February 1917, her married name became Newton.

     Sir Harry Michael Rex Newton, 3rd Bt. was born on 7 February 1923.1 He was the son of Sir Harry Knottingham Newton, 2nd Bt. and Myrtle Irene Grantham.2 He married Pauline Jane Howgill, daughter of Richard John Frederick Howgill, on 3 July 1958.1 He died on 29 February 2008 at age 85.3
     Sir Harry Michael Rex Newton, 3rd Bt. usually went by his middle name of Michael.2 He was educated at Eastbourne College, Eastbourne, Sussex, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, in North Africa and the Middle East, where he was wounded.1 He gained the rank of officer in the King's Royal Rifle Corps.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Newton, of The Wood, Sydenham Hill, Lewisham, Kent and Kottingham House, Burton-on-Trent, co. Stafford [U.K., 1900] on 22 June 1951.2 He was a director of Thomas Parsons & Sons.1 He lived in 2003 at Cliff House, Old Lyme Road, Charmouth, Dorset, England.1
