Sir Reginald Hardy, 2nd Bt. was born on 15 September 1848.1 He was the son of Sir John Hardy, 1st Bt. and Laura Holbech.2 He married Lucy Marion Gladstone, daughter of Captain John Neilson Gladstone and Elizabeth Honoria Bateson, on 29 April 1876.1 He died on 6 August 1938 at age 89.2
He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1873 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Hardy, of Dunstall Hall, co. Stafford [U.K., 1876] on 9 July 1888.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1893.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Staffordshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Staffordshire.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the Staffordshire Imperal Yeomanry.2
