     Alice Maud Appelbe Hanson was the daughter of Sir Charles Augustin Hanson, 1st Bt. and Martha Sabina Appelbe.2 She married Maj.-Gen. Sir Frederick Cuthbert Poole, son of Reverend Robert Henry Poole and Elizabeth Lawrence Pawlett, on 28 November 1906.1 She died on 12 June 1952.1
     From 28 November 1906, her married name became Poole. She was awarded the Order of Mercy.1

     Maj.-Gen. Sir Frederick Cuthbert Poole was born on 3 August 1869.2 He was the son of Reverend Robert Henry Poole and Elizabeth Lawrence Pawlett.3,2 He married Alice Maud Appelbe Hanson, daughter of Sir Charles Augustin Hanson, 1st Bt. and Martha Sabina Appelbe, on 28 November 1906.1 He died on 20 December 1936 at age 67.1
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, London, England.2 He fought in the Tirah Expedition between 1897 and 1898.2 He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches three times.2 He gained the rank of Captain in June 1899.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1902.1 He gained the rank of Major in June 1909.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches seven times.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in June 1915.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1917.      Sir Charles Edwin Bourne Hanson, 2nd Bt. was born on 17 May 1874.1 He was the son of Sir Charles Augustin Hanson, 1st Bt. and Martha Sabina Appelbe.2 He married Violet Sybil Johnstone, daughter of John B. Johnstone, on 29 April 1908.1 He died on 7 September 1958 at age 84.1
     He graduated from Clare College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He gained the rank of Boer War between 1899 and 1902.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 3rd W R Regiment.1 He was partner of Coates, Son & Company.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Hanson, of Fowey, co. Cornwall [U.K., 1918] on 17 January 1922.1 He held the office of Lieutenant of the City of London.1 He was member of the London Stock Exchange.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Cornwall in 1939.1
